AIESEC

AIESEC is the largest network managed and composed exclusively of individuals aged 18-30 with a presence in more than 120 countries and regions. Its purpose is to develop leadership skills in young people through intercultural exchanges. These exchanges are either voluntary or internships and aim at the personal and professional development of young people, while at the same time creating a positive
impact on society. Since 2015, AIESEC has been collaborating with the UN with the aim of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

AIESEC Greece has a physical presence in over 7 Universities throughout Greece and is constantly expanding. In just the last 2 years, 2000 young people have participated in our programs and today we count over 300 active members in our organization.

"Τα παιδιά, που δούλεψα στο ίδρυμα τις πρώτες ημέρες είχαν βαριά μορφή αυτισμού και ήταν λίγο δύσκολο να παίξεις μαζί τους. Παρόλα αυτά μας έδιναν σημασία και κάναμε πολλά πράγματα μαζί (ζωγραφική,χορό,παιχνίδι με τουβλάκια κλπ). Πρώτα από όλα έμαθα να παρατηρώ περισσότερο τα παιδιά και να καταλαβαίνω τις ανάγκες τους. Σίγουρα συνειδητοποίησα ότι είναι πολύ δύσκολο να συναναστρέφεσαι και ακόμα περισσότερο να μεγαλώνεις ένα παιδί με αυτισμό επομένως θέλω πολύ να βοηθήσω αυτούς τους ανθρώπους και τα ίδια τα παιδιά ακόμη και όταν γυρίσω στην Ελλάδα."

"There are a lot of things I learned only the first two weeks. Since I'm with children aged 4-7, I've had to be really creative and create lessons that are mostly based on interaction. And also these lessons must be simple yet they must carry new knowledge of English. And except for this practical achievement, there are some soft skills I have developed a lot, such as patience and understanding for someone's subjectivity and view of the world because each kid is so much different than the other. Also, I don't know if that's considered impact but my interaction with kids here has made me grow a more soft side for people and made me more gentle in terms of social interaction."
